2014 HNA/AANS International Interdisciplinary Conference in Boston, MA

The Historians of Netherlandish Art will hold its next conference in Boston June 5-7, 2014. This conference will be held in cooperation with the American Association for Netherlandic Studies, and will involve sessions and workshops with focus on Netherlandish art 1350-1750.

It will take place at the conference center of Boston University, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and other locations of interest in the Boston area.

About HNA:

Historians of Netherlandish Art is an international organization founded in 1983 to foster communication and collaboration among historians of Northern European art from medieval to modern times. Its membership comprises scholars, teachers, museum professionals, art dealers, publishers, book dealers, and collectors throughout the world. The art and architecture of the Netherlands (Dutch and Flemish), and of Germany and France, as it relates to the Netherlands, from about 1350 to 1750, forms the core of members' interests. Current membership includes around 700 individuals and 30 institutions and businesses.

About AANS:

AANS is an interdisciplinary organization that promotes the study of the language, literature and culture of the Dutch-speaking world in the United States.

The organization maintains contact among persons engaged in teaching and research in the field of Netherlandic Studies, which includes the language, literature, art, music, history and contemporary civilization of the Netherlands, Flanders, Suriname, the Netherlands Antilles and areas where the historical influence of Dutch culture is in evidence today, such as South Africa and Indonesia.

Furthermore, AANS provides opportunity for the dissemination of information, exchange of ideas, discussion of common problems and diffusion of scholarly knowledge in areas related to her purpose.
