Eleven-year old Freddy — a cycling fanatic — is the son of a butcher in an idyllic village in the Belgian boondocks. Freddy’s isolated life is disrupted when a new supermarket opens, and it sponsors a cycling race to celebrate. Freddy’s father — a fierce opponent of the supermarket — doesn’t want to hear anything about the race, but Freddy secretly enters. When Freddy wins, a whole new world opens up — not only for Freddy, but for everyone around him!
